I received this and it says to immediately charge but I have no cord to plug it into. It has a male plug that is recessed, needing a female plug on the end of a cord. None of my household extension cords fit it. You have to get a cord at a hardware store. Like someone said a plug that goes into a weed whacker or something might fit but I have no outdoor equipment like that as I live in the desert. br /br /A cigarette lighter plug has to be sent off for too. Just a warning to those who may think this thing comes ready to go. It has a USB port but no explanation as to what that does other than saying when it is live you can plug in the accessory, whatever that means. It is not too well written. Perhaps a mechanic would understand it better and perhaps all this is common knowledge to most, but not to br /me and I wish the booklet was better. br /br /It also says to store it at 70 degrees fahrenheit and that means in the house at night in the desert. Otherwise it deteriorates the battery. It must be charged at least 8 hours when you get it. Letting the battery go without charging can ruin it. You must charge monthly or after every time you use it. br /br /br /

I hate to write bad reviews, however this product cranked my car one time. After that it has failed to crank my car even after a full charge. It now, is just an air compressor.I would have bought a more powerful and expensive product had I known. Do not buy this product if you want a reliable jump starter.

I purchased this air compressor/jump starter for my father as a birthday gift and he loves it! Its small and portable but still has lots of power! This product is great for emergency situations! It of course has the jump starter, air compressor (with various attachments in a convenient little bag that's hooked to the air compressor so they wont get lost), and a usb which i though was great we hooked up the gps and cell phone to it and they charged right up! Perfect for emergencies, camping, etc! The air compressor/jump starter itself can also be charged through the usb to a cigarette lighter in the car which is very convenient! Cheaper on amazon than everywhere else!

I got this battery jumper and was not sure if it would do the job. For the price it should.Well it did I took it up the mountain to start our tractor,and it worked great.I started it 7 or 8 times and the jumper was still going strong.You get what you pay for and in this case it was worth it.It's nice to know that you don't have to worry about a jumper.It was very cold out and it started right up.The only thing about this battery that some might not like is that it is a tad heavy.I would not want to carry it too far,but if you do not care about the weight then there is no other one out there that will compare to this one.If i get another one it will be another one of these.Great buy.

I think this Jump Pack could start the Space Shuttle!! It is a little big and a little heavy but man can this thing crank! The best feature is the long cables. they are very soft and flexible. you can set the pack on the ground and the cables will easily reach your battery. Nice for when you don't have a spot under the hood to balance the pack while you start your vehicle. I will be ordering another one for my dad's birthday.br /br /Look no further, this is the last pack you'll need!

Does what it is supposed to do. - HVAC Installer -
Jumps totally dead batteries without a second attempt. Doesn't have lots of features like air pump, but it can stay plugged in all the time and works well. Great for my uses.

I bought this little feller to replace an 40 amp converter that expired. I use it to maintain an auxiliary battery in my camping van; the converter was overkill.br /br /The SE is a different shape than the converter but fit. It has been doing its thing for a couple of years with no problems as has the battery. It runs 24/7 except when we are driving. In campsite, it is across the battery that the TV uses and I get no noise from it; the converter gave me a low hum. br /br /Should have bought it the first time.

The build quality is very poor. Can you imagine the nice-looking front panel is actually a piece of PAPER loosely (you can lift it up and see the back) attached to a metal plate, which is also loosely attached to the rest of the box? Worst, the one I got did not charge, and with a multimeter I found the output voltage is only 8.7 volt. I sent it back immediately.br /br /I purchased it because of the previous two five star reviews, so I don't want other people to fall into the same trap. You have been warned.br /

Barely OK, moving toward don't buy - John Byron - USA
It worked fine for about 2 years, starting my Ford Ranger approximately 10-12 times, then just went south and wouldn't hold a charge. Same as some other reviewers here. For the money it is not a good value.

Battery Won't Last! DANGER - 90 day warranty! - Woody the Woodworker - California
I have a PS-120A I bought about a year ago. I went to use it the other day and it said RECHARGE so I Recharged it. Immediately upon plugging it in it said CHARGED. So I left it in over night, unplugged it and pushed the status button, and it said "RECHARGE". br /br /I called Schumacher this morning, and after waiting 20 MINUTES on hold, was told that the battery was likely bad, and that the battery had only a 90 day warranty, and that if you don't charge the battery once a month every month it will discharge permanently and will become landfill like mine. br /br /CAREFULLY CONSIDER whether you want to purchase a Schumacher product. I asked if there was a trade in program, or if there is anything I can do, and they said "Buy a new battery or buy a new unit". Hardly what I would call stellar company support, and even though they charge a premium for their products, THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND WHAT THEY MAKE!!!br /br /My next jump starter will NOT be a Schumacher.

I was camping in my RV, and plugged in to the campground 120-volt AC power. I didn't realize the converter charger in my RV had gone bad. The converter charger transforms 120-volt AC power to 12-volt DC power and charges the coach batteries. All the interior lights, the water pump, and the furnace fan run on 12-volts from the coach batteries. After about three days of heavy use both deep cycle coach batteries were too dead to even turn on a light. I borrowed a battery charger from another camper. It was a Black and Decker 25/10/2 Amp smart charger. I hooked it up across both coach batteries, and used it like that for the next two days. It immediately allowed us to have lights, water, and heat, charging at 25 amps. By the morning of the next day it was only charging at 10 amps. Being "smart" it must have realized the batteries now only needed 10 amp maintenance for what we were using. Both batteries are now fine, and still being used. (I replaced the converter charger as soon as I got home) I also bought a BD 25/10/2 Amp smart charger to carry in my RV. For myself, if I ever need one again, and to "pay it forward" if someone else ever has a battery problem. Couldn't find that particular model in any stores so I went online and the best price was at Amazon. I haven't even used my new battery charger yet, but I'm sure glad I have it, and if/when it's needed, I know it will do the job. Sorry for the long winded story, but I hate reviews that just say "great battery charger".

Last BD product I buy- they don't stand behind the warranty - Alan -
I bought one of these Black Decker VEC1095ABD Smart Battery 25/10/2 Amp Battery Chargerin 2007 and it worked well until recently when I started getting the F03 message that others have gotten. Since it had a 5 year warranty, I called the BD phone number in the manual and was referred to Vector Manufacturing. When I finally spoke with someone, she gave me an address to mail it back to for repair or replacement, at their option, and indicated that it would be turned right around. I shipped it to them and a week and a half after it had been delivered to them, I called to check on the status. The fellow I spoke with checked the tracking number that I gave him and said that it had been delivered (Duh!), but it wasn't in their system yet. He then went on to say that it would be replaced, but they did not have any in stock and it would take 3-4 months for for me to get one. I fired off an email to BD's main email address and got nothing more than a generic computer generated response directing me to Vector Manufacturing. After this kind of warranty service, I won't be buying anything else with the Black and Decker label on it.

Durable and convenient - jtvt -
I've had this for three years or so and have used it about every other week between my four vehicles, from temps as low as -15F to 90F. Damp weather (under the engine if raining) to direct sunlight. Occasionally, if the battery is completely drained you need to give it a quick jump with cables to get a little charge in there so this charger will recognize that it isn't toast, but otherwise superb. 75amps hasn't failed to start with one burst yet, 25 amps will charge a battery to acceptable levels within a couple hours.br /br /I almost never buy B+D and nearly avoided this one given their record with power tools, but highly recommend.
